About Juniper

Juniper comes from the steam distillation of berries from the Juniper tree, a small tree of the cypresses family with needle like leaves and small berries, which are blue at first and turn black after two years. The odour is reminiscent of turpentine. So if you have ever been an artist or around artists you may recognise the scent. I like this about the smell as it evokes memories for me of being in an artist’s studio. So feels full of creativity.
